A Message from the Principal

  • Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. We are looking forward to a school year filled with opportunities to provide our students with experiences that will influence their social, emotional and academic growth. Based out of the Patrick M. Villano Elementary school in Emerson, the Nova Elementary Program’s focus is to assure that our 4th-6th grade students are given opportunities for success in a traditional elementary school setting. This is achieved by providing our students with the academic, therapeutic and behavioral supports they may need to be successful. Due to the school setting, many opportunities are available to our students. These opportunities may include mainstreaming, utilizing technology to help meet academic goals, and participating in traditional elementary school activities.

At Nova North, we pride ourselves on the ability to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to make a smooth transition to a middle school setting. We do this by academically exposing students to grade level curriculum with supports and modifications. We also focus on enhancing our students’ executive functioning skills in order to foster independence. Both group and individual counseling is available to all of our students.

We look forward to our continuing efforts to work collaboratively with families and local districts to assure our student’s achieve their goals.
