The BCSS Experience
-
In BCSS schools students experience nurturing yet challenging learning environments where they feel respected and valued. Our expert staff are dedicated to providing students with the instruction, services and encouragement they need in order to succeed both in school and in the community. As students gain skills and confidence, they realize that at BCSS they can achieve all their educational goals in a place of trust and opportunity.
Our Approach
-
The Bergen County Special Services School District offers the most innovative, cutting edge programs and services for students with special needs. We provide programs and services for students with autism, multiple disabilities, behavioral challenges and as well as students who are deaf and hard of hearing.
We utilize a team approach with our parents, staff, and professional support system as we strive to address each student’s individual learning needs.
We work to ensure that each student is provided the supports and resources needed in order for them to reach their maximum potential.
Life After BCSS
-
We are committed to ensuring that BCSS students are well prepared for life after school. We provide individualized transition services to all students. Students are prepared for the work through community-based instruction, internships, and SLE experiences. Students who will be transitioning to a post secondary educational program work with our guidance counselor who assists them as they navigate through the process of applying to the secondary school/program of their choice. BCSS also provides programs for Adults with Disabilities in Wood-Ridge and Paramus New Jersey.
