BCSS - RE-ENTRY PLAN
The VISIONS EMERSON PROGRAM educates students with multiple disabilities in grades seven through twelve. Students work in a supportive yet challenging environment designed to maximize educational opportunities within a traditional high school setting while providing extra supports and services.
The program offers inclusion/mainstreaming opportunities based upon each student's abilities, interests, and grade level. Related services--- physical therapy, speech, nursing, occupational therapy and counseling are available. Transition services are an integral part of the program and include Community Based Instruction, Life Skills, Career Ed classes, Guidance Counselor, Job Coach and Internships.
VISIONS utilizes a number of strategies and assistive technologies to bring high-interest learning and activities to its students. VISIONS staff members believe that in this safe environment, the greater the expectations, the greater the achievements!
A Message from the Principal

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. We are looking forward to a school year filled with opportunities to provide our students with experiences that will influence their social, emotional and academic growth. Based out of Emerson Junior/Senior High School, the Visions Emerson Program’s focus is to provide our 7th-12th grade students with a traditional middle school and high school experience. This is achieved by providing our students with both academic supports and IEP driven related services. Due to the school setting, many opportunities are available to our Visions students. These opportunities may include mainstreaming, utilizing technology to help meet academic goals, securing an internship, and support for post-secondary planning.
At Visions Emerson, we pride ourselves on the ability to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate life after high school. Therefore, my staff members work closely with students, families and local districts to assure transition goals are implemented and achieved. It is evident from Visions Emerson Alumni success stories that exceptional work is being done at the BCSS Visions Emerson Program.
We are looking forward to another successful school year as we continue to support the needs of all of our students.
