A Message from the Principal

It is my pleasure to introduce you to our innovative, barrier-free program designed for students in grades 9 through 12 with multiple disabilities. Located within Paramus High School, our inclusive setting allows students to learn alongside their grade-level peers while receiving the individualized supports they need to thrive. With tailored instruction, assistive technology, augmentative communication tools, and environmental accommodations, we empower each student to reach their fullest potential—academically and socially—within a supportive school community.

Our curriculum is fully aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and delivered by a dedicated team of highly trained and experienced professionals. Our staff collaborates closely with general education teachers to create meaningful, personalized educational experiences for every student.

At the high school level, we go beyond academics by incorporating Community-Based Instruction, pre-vocational experiences, and Person-Centered practices into daily learning. Students also receive speech, occupational, and physical therapies as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Above all, we are committed to ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and fully included in the life of our school.

For more information about our program, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to connecting with you!

Program Features

    • ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY

Students in our Visions Paramus Programs benefit from cutting-edge educational assistive technology. With online access to innovative literacy and math platforms, they engage in interactive lessons that are not only effective but also enjoyable. Our dedicated BCSS Assistive Technology Team collaborates closely with teachers and students to ensure consistent access to the full curriculum—both in our Visions classrooms and in general education settings.

      INCLUSION OPPORTUNITIES

All Visions students take part in inclusive general education experiences. These opportunities may include special area classes such as Art, Music, Physical Education, STEM, and Dance, as well as core academic subjects—promoting both social and academic growth across a variety of settings.

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING and ADVOCACY PROGRAMS

As part of our curriculum and commitment to students’ emotional development, Visions Paramus students take part in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons. These lessons help students build the knowledge and skills needed to understand and manage emotions, form healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions—both in school and in everyday life.  Our Advocacy Program and Person-Centered Lessons teach students that they "have a voice" in their educational process, as they learn all about their rights in education, the IEP process, and how to ask for accommodations and modifications they are entitled to in order to reach their goals.
