Welcome to the Washington School Program at Emerson

  • Students Reading The Washington @ Emerson is located in the Patrick Villano Elementary School in Emerson for students in 3rd through 6th grade and at Emerson  Jr/Sr HS for students in 9th through 12th grade. The program utilizes individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming for each learner across curricular domains. Data-based methodologies are provided from baseline conditions through fluency and generalization stages of learning.

This inclusion program affords students the opportunity to mainstream into classes with their non-disabled peers, as well as provides self-contained classes. Parents receive an Annual Review and Progress Reports, which are issued in January, March, and June. Parent/Teacher conferences are held in November. Staff members meet on a case-by-case basis to determine the eligibility status of each student to participate in state-mandated testing. Currently, all students in this program participate in Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) alternative assessment testing conducted from October through March.
