Union Street School students took their learning on the road with a visit to Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff. Their pre-learning helped them with putting their seasonal vocabulary into practice with life cycles of pumpkins, apples and animals. Good thing we brought along our physical and occupational therapists to help navigate the different terrains on the farm as well using muscle power for carrying those pumpkins! Back at the school, the students explored the inside texture of the pumpkins and collected the seeds to plant as well as bake and taste.
