Empowering Growth Through Skill Development, Independence, and Community Inclusion
The Progressive Paths program is a DDD and Medicaid-approved program offering day habilitation services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). As a specialized program located within the Wood-Ridge Adult Training Center, Progressive Paths is designed for individuals who benefit from a small, supportive environment. Progressive Paths provides significant assistance in communication, foundational skill acquisition, and adaptive behavior. Our program emphasizes following daily routines, building task attention, and fostering positive behavior both in the community and within the program.
Instruction is introduced and reinforced through structured, sequential steps, with activities tailored to group or individual needs. While engaged in meaningful activities and individualized objectives, participants receive guidance from staff to support their learning of new skills, social engagement, and growth in independence.
The Progressive Paths staff and families work closely to create individualized support plans that are closely monitored to ensure high levels of support and to make modifications as needed to support individual goal achievement. Staff support clients in a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio.
This specialized program, experienced in working with adults with I/DD, supports them in performing daily tasks, acquiring skills, participating in the community, and adapting to change. Using a positive, hierarchical approach to behavior under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), individuals are guided toward increased self-direction, stronger adaptive skills, more meaningful interactions, and active community participation in a safe and nurturing environment.
