Welcome to Career Crossroads
Career Crossroads is a shared time vocational program, offering students the opportunity to explore and prepare for careers in Sales and Customer Service, or Hospitality and Food Service. Students engage in classroom, project-based and community-based learning experiences. A focus of Career Crossroads is preparing students to acquire independence and the “soft skills” required for workplace success: communication, enthusiasm and attitude, teamwork, networking, problem-solving/critical thinking, and professionalism.
Hospitality & Food Service
The course of study encompasses food specific areas including food prep, food service and safety, hospitality, and workplace readiness. The Career Crossroads Cafe and the Cafe @540 Kiosk allow students to study aspects of the field through direct application and development of skills in practical situations.
Sales & Customer Service
Designed to prepare participants for entry-level sales and customer service-related positions and provides support for successful entry and advancement in service-related careers. Customer service, sales, and literacy standards have been integrated into a fully-developed curriculum. A unique component of the program, the new Crossroads Corner Gift Shop, allows students to manage a retail store, and provides opportunities for hands-on experience in marketing, merchandising, inventory, and customer service.
The Career Crossroads PM program is open to 11th and 12th grade students.
