"Coming into the Interactive Design Technology (IIDT) program at NVOT, I knew nobody, and I was terrified I’d spend high school on the outside of cliques that had formed back in middle school. That fear lasted about a day. I met two of my closest friends at orientation, before classes even started, and found the rest in classrooms, at lunch tables, and in clubs I wandered into.
What set this place apart were teachers who are genuinely qualified and genuinely invested in you, and class sizes small enough that learning feels student-led.
I grew here in ways that go well past coursework. Struggling through hard classes together, playing tennis, volunteering. All of it built a community I didn’t expect and can’t picture high school without.
That community is also what made my internship mean so much. I spent a month building something for the school itself, a chance to give back to the same place that shaped me.
The skills are real and current, but the friendships and the community are what you carry out. That’s the part that made it unforgettable."Daniel Winter - Accepted to the Cornell University
