Joan Vogel

Ms. Joan Vogel began her career with Bergen County Special Services in 1975 as a teacher on the Rockleigh Campus.  Since then, she has worked in various programs with students of all ages with developmental disabilities. Ms. Vogel found her “home” working with older students and adults in the Autism Continuum.

As Teacher Case Manager for the past 12 years, Ms. Vogel quickly became the “Face of the Program”. She did so by cultivating meaningful and trusted relationships with local school districts and families during two pivotal transitions; entering and graduating high school. Ms. Vogel was responsible for managing and conducting tours and intakes of the program as well as guiding parents through the difficult and emotional process of entering the world of Adult Services. Her passion and dedication to students with disabilities and their families meant that she worked diligently to enable every graduate to find the right adult placement. Ms. Vogel looks forward to her retirement and spending more time with her family.

The Bergen County Special Services School District and Board of Education would like to thank Ms. Vogel for her years of dedication and wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
