Ms. Patricia Welle graduated in 1973 from William Paterson College (University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She attended graduate school and received certification as a reading specialist, (K-12), in 1978, when she was elected to Pi Lambda Theta National Education Honor Society.
After teaching 5th and 6th grade in 3 Catholic schools, Ms. Welle joined Bergen County Special Services in 1984 as a teacher with the 192/193 Services to Non-Public Schools program. She left the district in 1989 to care for her infant daughter, however, was rehired in 1996, and has been with the district ever since.
Ms. Welle has taught compensatory education and supplemental instruction to hundreds of students in grades K-12. The schools she has been assigned to are too numerous to mention. While there have been many momentous moments in her teaching career, one that stands apart from the rest came in 2017 when the 8th grade class of St. Leo's School dedicated the yearbook to her.
Ms. Welle looks forward to her spending time with her family, especially her 2 beautiful grandchildren.
The Bergen County Special Services School District and Board of Education would like to thank Ms. Welle for her years of dedication and wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
