Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!!
As the Principal of the Norman A. Bleshman Regional Day School, it is my honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year. I hope you have been enjoying your summer and are excited for the upcoming school year.
We had a very successful Extended School Year program, focusing on the theme “America the Beautiful: Celebrate America”. Each “pod” learned about a different region of the United States and had the opportunity to share that information with their classmates through a variety fun and energetic activities. This included a journey through the west with the Pony Express, a home run derby and a dazzling musical / skit performance! You can catch up on these activities on the BCSS Bleshman Regional Day School Facebook page...don’t forget to like us and follow us!!
The 2017-2018 school year kicks off on Thursday, September 7th! Programming at Bleshman Regional Day School will continue to offer an academic / functional / career-based curriculum with classroom lessons incorporating a multi-sensory, multi-disciplinary and differentiated approach to best meet the students’ individual needs. Teachers and Therapists (Physical, Occupational and Speech) will work collaboratively to ensure that student therapeutic objectives are infused into the day-to-day routine. Students will have the opportunity to explore and experience their community through the Career Awareness Center, the school store, in-house jobs, the school apartment, and trips to local establishments as well as through participation in the many school-based events that are supported by members of the community. As always, the school will be bustling with activity!
Mark your Calendar...Back to School Night will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd from 7:00pm – 8:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to hear about what the 2017-2018 school year has in store for your son/daughter at Bleshman Regional Day School!!
On behalf of the staff of Bleshman Regional Day School, I would like to wish you and your family a relaxing and enjoyable remainder of summer.
Warmest Regards,
Gail Coe
