Welcome to the Bergen Academies

In its short history, the Academy has emerged as a powerful force and leader in school reform.  Our history can best be described as one in the making because, as histories go, the Bergen County Academies is young. However, since accepting its first class in August, 1992, Bergen County's magnet high school of choice has emerged as a powerful force in educational reform.

BCA Principals Message

As the 2007-2008 school year draws to a close, I am left with a sense of awe and wonder at the mind-boggling accomplishments of the students and faculty of The Bergen County Academies. With all of the competitions, awards, performances, and honors, one wonders how our students find time to relax! Let’s thank our lucky stars, then, that summertime is upon us - a time for barbecues and fireworks, beaches and lounge chairs.

BCA Students Excel at Physics Olympics

Congratulations to our Bergen County Academies Physics Olympics teams for winning First Prize in the Fermi event at the 2008 competition. The Fermi event challenges students to estimate the order of magnitude of a quantity that is difficult or impossible to measure.

Sample questions for this event include:
1) How many drops of water would be in the Atlantic ocean?
2) How many expo markers would you need to build a connecting line between the earth and the moon?

Frost Valley

Welcome Class of 2012. Plans are underway for the entire freshmen class to share three days of adventure and learning at Frost Valley on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, returning Friday, September 5.

You will participate in a variety of activities that will promote personal self-confidence, build leadership skills, and help to develop an appreciation of our natural surroundings.
